What’s Up? Magazine Annapolis
A Davidsonville-native, Pat Spencer has received numerous national accolades throughout his record-breaking collegiate lacrosse career as lead sophomore attackman for the No. 18 NCAA Division I Loyola University Maryland Men’s Lacrosse team. I reached out to Spencer’s local hometown magazine, suggesting he be highlighted for their “Athlete Worth Watching” section. I was extremely satisfied with the long article and interview spotlighting Spencer’s lacrosse talents and wide range of achievements!
Maryland Special Olympics hosts an annual fishing tournament that allows athletes to show off their fishing talents. I called the Baltimore Sun a few days before the event to follow up with them to see if they would want to attend. Thinking that they wouldn’t due to how far the event site was, I was very excited to see it on page 2 on the Baltimore Sun!
Special Olympics Maryland held their 28th Boat Race on June 25, 2016. To prepare for the event, for there to be media coverage to highlight the olympic sporting event for individuals with disabilities. By reaching out to local media stations around the area, I was able to confirm the Star Democrat’s attendance and coverage for this event. The article posted prior to the event not only raised awareness for SOMD, but also increased attendance due to its publication.
